No, we haven’t invented a new alpha or beta precursor – the reason it’s called experimental mode is simply because we are experimenting with some ideas we have.
It is a proper working system but some of the ideas may be re-shaped and re-thought based on feedback, so calling it alpha or beta would be silly. We’d then need to re-test everything after the changes!
So, let the experiment begin 
It is closed until we feel comfortable letting more people loose with the system – on the Internet it’s just too easy to screw up and for the negative word to spread.

How much content is tagged at searchable right now?

It is all searcheable but it IS something that is being worked on.
At the moment you can search using the following method
“concept item intensity” – all are optional.
So you can search for:
“funny”
“loud music”
“loud music 5″ – this searching for music that is very loud (the 5 indicates high intensity).
At the moment you can only search for one concept but this is being worked on.
So you can search for
“funny”
but not
“funny toddlers” – this searching for funny stuff for toddlers.
